It’s election day in the States. Not that it matters; just an observation.
Before leaving Silver City, I ride to the downtown area to see it in morning light. There is hardly anyone on the streets in cool bright morning. After a delicious coffee in “Diane’s” bakery and a quick grocery shopping, I check out from the motel and head east.

After saying goodbye to my gracious hosts D&D, I join Scottsdale commuters down Hayden Rd towards Tempe. Soon a nice bike trail appears on my right, which Diane had pointed out to me earlier. Named Indian Bend Wash, the trail follows a river bank and goes through lush golf pastures and ponds with american coots. I exchange good-mornings with a few joggers and dog walkers. The bridge to Tempe crosses the Salt River, which breathes life to this area and beyond.
